Acting tough against drug abuse and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police booked 02 notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
The detained persons were identified as :-
1. Shabir Ahmed Sofi JK son of Abdul Khaliq Sofi resident of Mazhama Magam
02. Asif Nazir Rather son of Nazir Ahmed Rather resident of Archanderhama Budgam The drug peddlers have been lodged in District Jail Reasi.Pertinent to mention that the above accused persons were involved in NDPS cases and were promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of district Budgam.
General public of Budgam appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Our consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.
