Probe has nothing to do with DDC elections, exposing and punishing looters needs no specific timing
Srinagar, 27 Nov : The spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Altaf Thakur Thursday said that his party being a national party does not believe in political revenge, adding that probe has been ordered by Hon’ble High Court after irregularities came into fore.
Thakur said that central government led by Shri Narendra Modi is committed to punish people, who have been deceiving people for their own interests.
“It was Hon’ble High Court that ordered CBI probe into irregularities in the scheme on October 9.It asked the investigating agency to file a status report after every eight weeks. The investigation is going on ,those involved will have to face law,” added Thakur.
Thakur said that to restore confidence of people and to take Union Territory (UT) on the path of development,it is necessary to name and shame the so-called representatives of people.
“The scheme was launched in 2001.Its aim was to generate revenue for power projects and to confer proprietary rights to the occupants of the state land. The scheme was misused. The ownership rights were given to politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, hoteliers and others,” he added.
Thakur said, “The illegal transfer of ownership rights of state land has resulted in a loss of Rs 25000 Crore to the state exchequer.
The land needs to be be retrieved at an earliest. The people who have grabbed state land fraudently should be given exemplary punishment.”
Referring to the statements of former chief minister,Dr Farooq Abdullah and former finance minister,Dr Haseeb Drabu, he said that CBI is an independent and premier investigating agency of the country and as such it cannot implicate anyone without proof.
“The Abdullah’s and Mufti’s have filled their own pockets and of their near and dear ones. The people continue to suffer because of their wrongdoings. They need respite. It is our responsibility to bring them out of distress,”he added
