The man was born to do something unprecedented and he did the same! Abducted by deception and then the death by a murder were two sides of the same coin! He took both with the guts of a tiger!
The man was one in the band of brothers who went and got Sameer Tiger the Hizbul Mujahideen tom man in a bullet for bullet face off!
That was heroism but the way the terrorists abducted him and subsequently killed him was cowardice.
But the killers had no answer when the avengers returned and the murderers had no place to run!
As such now in Pulwama Hizb men are kicking the bucket one after the other and the group has lost all its top men who think areas of Pulwama are safe but it’s not the case. Wherever they hide they are bound to be found out.
Not everyone has the capability to become famous, and what is more important than becoming famous is becoming a human. Aurangzeb was a human first and everyone in Salani knows that he was always up there with his friends, playing, gossiping and always talking about the future of youth and helping out everyone including the children whom he loved.
He was always a willing heart, who believed in anything and die for anything. He knew the art of fighting and could go anything. He showed it during the deadly face offs with the terrorists and when he was abducted he did not ask for favours, could have fought, maybe had also but ultimately was undone as the men were with arms and he had none.
The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins. Really the martyrdom has sprung up the people of Mendhar and all want to emulate the exploits of the great man who died valiantly but with no support even from his personal weapon which he wasn’t carrying since he was on proceeding on leave, had he been carrying one the result of the contest would have been different.
The people of Mendhar were unanimous today, they cherish martyr Aurangzeb not because he died for truth, but because he died for what he believed in and loved. Love for the nation and the people was always uppermost in his heart and mind.
Life is about discovering things worth dying for!
It was a serene, calm and peaceful atmosphere in Salani with the breeze whistling through the pines, birds chirping, the hum of the people queuing up, the men in camouflages and Khakis all walking with pride, the Brass walking majestically and in the backdrop the Pir Panjals watching as usual solemn and still as another hero had fallen and there were so many to pay tributes to a man who had fallen just on the back side of the great mountains in Kashmir valley. Just a few days back the mountain range had seen the great march of the victory flame as it moved through the district Poonch.
Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the heart of every freedom lover & patriotic person. Therefore rest in peace. Aurangzeb always said to the people yes I will die rather than kill your beliefs in you, I will choose to be a martyr rather than an ordinary man. He was a man who suffered persecution and death for fighting against captivity, indifference, mockery, coldness, insolence, contempt and oppression, we respect you the people said in unison!
The elite gentry who gathered for paying tributes and giving accolades to a true soldier included, Commander 10 Inf Brigade Krishna Ghati, Adl SP Poonch Liyaqat Choudhary, Commanding Officer BSF Battalion, Commanding Officer 39 RR, Second in Command 156 TA Battalion, SDPO Mendhar Z A Jaffri, SHO Manzoor Kohli and officers and men from Indian Army and civil administration.
They were all unanimous in saying that martyrdom, the fanaticism of being willing to die for one’s beliefs, is the essential ingredient in making others want to follow the code left behind by that sacrificial example. Auranzeb had belief in himself, His only regret perhaps would have been that the murderers did not give a fair chance to fight. Had they given it would have been a one track story. But it was not to be!
As they did on his first anniversary of death this time also Aurangzeb’s parents had organized the mega tribute giving function and were overwhelmed by the support they got from the mega gathering. It would have been certainly bigger had the contagion not been in the air. His father Mohammed Hanief while talking to me said, ‘Now I understand his final purpose, through his words and deeds, to inspire others, to find hope and strength, to speak and act. He did it for the boys and girls of Mendhar who needed the fire inside themselves, he burned for them. But today he lies lifeless but will remains in everyone’s hearts’, ‘he has lit up the fire in me too, I’m an old man but am still a soldier, my other son too is a soldier, we are all prepared to sacrifice ourselves for the Nation which has given us so much but I still believe that we have to stand united and not pull around in every direction as we are and have been in the past’ he added! Indeed they were splendid words from a father soldier to his son who also donned the Olive Green armor!
We had told you the story yesterday, martyr Aurangzeb was abducted and later killed by militants in Pulwama district of UT Jammu and Kashmir, official said, adding that Aurangzeb sustained multiple bullet injuries in a ghastly and a grotesque act wherein he was kidnapped and killed by terrorists in Gasu village of Pulwama when he was on his way to his home to celebrate Eid with his family. Aurangzeb joined the Army in 2012. He is survived by his wife, parents and three brothers.
Sarpanch Salani Khaliq Chouhan, also paid rich tributes He was accompanied by locals People of the Salani Village and this is what he said, ‘there is no death for those who die for the people, there’s only immortality. Aurangzeb is immortal. No one knew this tiny village but today everyone does. One man changed the entire landscape and he was one of those kinds. We know he will never comeback but what he did very few can do’, ‘as a mark of respect if the civil administration could get a small memorial constructed for him it would be a matter of pride for up and coming youth of Salani and give the the spirit to rise high and do bigger deeds’ he added’!
He always used to say, do you really want to look back on your life and see how wonderful it could have been had you not been afraid to live it. He indeed lived the life of a knight who always wanted to take on an adverse situation head on but that fateful day two years back was not his day. Had it been he would have been alive. But this is just an emotional thought that tends to get spoiled over on occasions such as this. One more one liner which was always his favorite, I move around because it makes me realized how much I haven’t seen, how much I’m not going to see, and how much I still need to see! All said and done he had seen plenty at a young age!
