There is something definitely up in the mind of Pakistani Generals but India is well prepared, India can never be an aggressor but when patience runs out things can only get worse for Pakistan!
‘Drone attacks are a crime against humanity, we need humanity , more than cleverness, We need kindness, Pakistan is knitting up a new methodology and it perhaps does not realize the repercussions of the same!’
Drones are a tool, not a policy. The policy is assassination and destruction. This is what Pakistan believes in wholesomely. They came up with the suicide attacks and carried a number of missions in Jammu and Kashmir. This led to almost a war which somehow was avoided. Infiltrators kept continuing but the Indian Army had all bases covered on the LOC/IB and in the hinterland the gun carrying men on a futile stand stood no chance. They still don’t! Though one by one they kept hitting the bucket yet they carried on with their killing spree accounting for the innocents for example yesterday a SPO along with his wife and child were assassinated with ruthless brutality. The terrorists are going to go nowhere since they too will be hunted out but the blood sport still has to end from the Pakistan side. Now they have opted for the aerial drones and two forays into Indian space and drop of the payload straightaway indicate that the Pak intentions are dubious and dirty. It wants to carry on with the ugly game which is going to lead the deep and dark country nowhere.
Terrorists are a company whose business depends on war and conflict to thrive. It operates in a demand-based industry where corporate profits are intimately linked to an escalation of violence. That is what this company is not stopping and the main reason is the support it is getting from the Pak Generals.
Amid the raging debate over gun control, it is also important to talk about other methods that terrorists might use to attack civilians. Experts believe that the next big attack will likely come in the form of commercial drones since there is little security infrastructure to anticipate and react to such a threat. This is going to be the method that Pak based terrorists are going to try and may be over and over again. Now that is a real problem! So it’s time to up our game. If they can target air force station, trying to create a situation in Kaluchak and Ratnu Chak then they will do it anywhere
Drones present a uniquely challenging threat when it comes to terrorism. The security forces have been fighting the Lashkar-e- Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed but if they get the increasingly lethal fleet of drones which can be capable of carrying bombs or chemicals that if dropped over a crowd of people, could have a devastating effect. We are in no way sound alarmists but it can happen.
At home, the threat of terrorists using drones to drop bombs or even biological weapons over J&K soil is increasingly real. Today’s drones can carry a payload of about the weight of a grenade or a handgun, but the technology will develop quickly and before long they will be able to carry 10 or 12 KG’s, the one dropped at air force station was 6 Kg’s. Anything can be a target since terrorists have been using this technology elsewhere in the world.
I. What happened today:
Army claimed that it thwarted a major threat by averting two separate drone activities in Ratnuchak and Kaluchak military area in Jammu.
The claim comes a day after two bombs were reportedly dropped inside the Indian Air Force (IAF) Station adjacent to Jammu Airport in Satwari area using the drones, causing minor damage to a hall and lawn besides injuries to two IAF personnel.
It was again a midnight foray and the time was 2345 hours when the whirring sounds were heard by the men keeping vigil at night and then again the sounds were heard at 0240 hours. They were spotted by troops and this was disclosed by Lt. Col. Devendra Anand, the PRO Defense.
Immediately, a high alert was sounded and Quick reaction teams engaged them with firing, Both the drones flew away. The security forces are now on high alert and the search operations were immediately launched.
Yesterday also we told you that this was for the first time, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-mounted explosives have been used to target military facilities in Jammu and Kashmir and today was the second.
Seeing the drones flying all over it can be said that high perimeter walls, barbed wire and sentry posts can no longer stall the enemy attack. From a safe distance, the enemy can launch an attack from a stand-off distance. Yesterday we did mention that Pakistan has drones that can penetrate 20 to 200 kilometers.
For the past two years plus, Pakistan has been using UAVs to send AK-47 assault rifles, ammunition and drugs into India, especially across the Punjab and Jammu border. Several drones have been sighted and neutralized in the past and weapons recovered.
According to the IAF, radars can detect some military drones but not small quadcopters. There are special Kurf radars for smaller, slower flying UAVs but the effort so far has been to educate troops on ground and identify the threat and then neutralize it.
This is the biggest challenge for security forces. Fighter jets can be kept in blast pens but radars and multiple other assets remain exposed to the threat from the skies. Therefore at sensitive bases on the basis of threat perception, specialized radars, lasers and anti aircraft guns will have to be deployed.
The Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) will lose their importance in Pakistan if there is peace. In Pakistan, the army rules the country and to remain in power needs India as a permanent threat. Therefore, the Pakistani dark and deep state has not dismantled the terror camps.
Whatever you say, this way or that way, Pakistan is going play the game in a dirty way and this definitely is a shift to what it did earlier. ‘Use technology instead of men seems to be the new trend set’.
Intelligence agencies have been continuously sounding the security forces regarding the influx of Chinese drones into the terror outfits. Chinese commercial drones being used to ferry firearms is only one part of the problem. Intelligence agencies have also alerted security forces to stay alert to the threat of the drones capable of carrying loads being used to bomb targets close to the border.
The plan of using drones came into focus in early 2020 when the world was fighting the spreading contagion. ISI, Lashkar and Jaish leaders were making a lethal broth. The plans spread into this year with elaborate meetings in Taxila and Kotli.
The plans are perhaps being put into practice now. These could be the initial runs which we are seeing before the same catches up intensity. Officials at that time also said that while India is pushing hard to build its anti-drone capacities, Till the same is concretely established we can expect more drone drops.
Drones or unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) are remotely operated pilotless vehicles that are equipped with a wide range of technology to gather intelligence, conduct reconnaissance or perform surveillance and include a capacity for attacking targets with lethal weapons). During the War on Terror, the United States had increasingly utilized drones against the remnants of the Taliban and al-Qaeda forces in a number of locations such as Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is particularly the case in areas where American forces could not operate overtly on the ground. However, the use of drones in targeted killing operations has been controversial since its inception. Before September 2001, the United States itself had criticised and condemned the Israeli policy of targeted killings in which Israeli security forces used conventional military force to kill Palestinian opponents during and after Second Intifada. The root of the controversy lies predominantly in the questionable precision, efficacy and accuracy of drone attacks due to their latency, the time duration between the capture of movement on the ground and the response of the drone after capturing images via satellite . But the terrorists will not see this because their aim assassination and devastation! India no doubt will counter this threat but it is Pakistan’s sly black gang that is back again to its self manufactured illusions and delusions!
