It was a day to celebrate after lot of gloom and unpleasant happenings due to the recent Pandemic when entire world was keeping indoors.Sharika Sewaks of Delhi-NCR who are primarily KP volunteers for creating awareness for social causes organised a Samoohik Yagnopavit Sanskar ceremony for Six community children at Sharika Bhawan,Sec-17 Faribad. Different families from different areas came together to join for the function which is an important Sanskar/ritual in tje Kashmri Pandit community. As due to lockdown and continued uncertainties parent’s were anxious to get tjese functions done which has created a social reform in some since when huge gathering was normally seen during these functions. Entries ftom fifteen families has come for the Samoohik Yagnopavit but due to Covid restrictions only six participants were allowed to undertake this ritual under complete covid protocol and other restrictions.This function gives a clear message to community and other sects in society to avoid unnecessary expenses and extravaganza when it can be done collectively for the benefit of society and community. Mr Digamber Raina who oversaw all the function said that it was need if the hour to save money for other equally important aspects of life when people are losing jobs and there is uncertqiniyuall over.These customs and traditions are part and parcel of our community and celebrating it tougher with known & unknown families gives it a unique touch where our children learn a lot about their Dharma and its importance in our lives said Mr Ajay Pandita another Sharika Sewak Volunteer. Almost all organisational heads attended this important function which was 2nd attempt by Sharika sewak Volunteers when earlier they had conducted Yagnopavit of 15 Young children in the year 2018. It included Dr Sudhir Sopori, Mr MK Pajan, Dr SK Handoo, Mr Utpal Koul,Sh Ravinder Pandita,Mr Duleep Mattoo,Mr Sanjay Ganjoo, Smt Jia Kachroo.Team from Sharika sewaks included Mr Sanjay Kaul,Mr Rakesh Koul,Mr Bharat ji Pandita, Mr Ashwani Pandita, Sh Subash Premi ji,Mr Palvin Tiku Etc.Mr Sanjeev Gautam Raina mesmerised the occasion with traditional Kashmiri Bhajans and songs a day earlier when the function started. The programme was supported by Kashmiri Welfare Association,KSS Faridabad,Youth 4 Panun Kashmir,Roots in Kashmir, Sharika Foundation, Koushersaal restaurants, Landmark Crafts, Save Sharda Commitee,Kashyap and Mulchar Cricket teams etc.Sh D N Pandita who is the guide and mentor of Sharika Sewaks blessed the occasion and distributed Bhagwat Gita to all children during the function. Sharika Sewaks have committed and declared to organise a exclusive *Samoohik Mekhla Upanayan Sanaskar* for girls in coming days.It is the need of the hour to revisit to our roots and other Dharmic Sanskars. Community members are requested to be in touch with the organisers in this regard. Families prayed to Lord Shiva and Maa Sharika to bring peace in their motherland and offered prayers as per the defined rituals.Dr Agnishekhar gave special blessings through a phone call and has committed to support and join the next proposed Samoohik Yagnopavit Sanskar for girls which will be a important day by giving our women proper religious empowerment which was earlier part of our cultural heritage.
