China, Pakistan joint statement on Third Session of the Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue mentions Kashmir; says, “China opposes any unilateral actions that complicate the situation.”
Joint statement says, “The Pakistan side reiterated its commitment to the “One China Policy” and firm support to China on core issues of its national interest, such as Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong and South China Sea.”
Pak foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had arrived in China to lead Pakistan delegation at the bilateral talks to be held in Chengdu city of Sichuan province.
During the talks, matters relating to bilateral relations, cooperation in diverse areas, progress on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects and promotion of cooperation in the fields of defense and security were discussed.
The issues of mutual interest including the regional situation were discussed.
The Foreign Minister and his Chinese counterpart held a joint press conference after the delegation level talks.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Qureshi held meetings with important personalities including Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
