Mendhar : Women are sharing equal responsibilities in our society and doing wonders in all fields as evident from the performance of women in the current Tokyo 2020 Olympics. However, there is a need to guide & empower women and girls to avail available opportunities in the society. Towards achievement of this goal, Indian Army organised a lecture on “Career Opportunity in Armed Forces for Girls” at Nari Niketan, Mendhar (Poonch) on 02 Aug 2021.
The lecture was conducted following all COVID-19 protocols and the girls were
briefed in detail on ‘Career Opportunity in Armed Forces for Girls’ through various entries i.e.Short Service Commission, NCC entry and MNS (Military Nursing Service) as an officer.
They were also briefed on the new entry scheme in the Corps of Military Police (CMP) and procedure for enrolment in the same. The lecture also covered the emoluments and benefits provided to Army personnel during the service as well as the post retirement benefits. The queries of the girls were answered in detail and they felt more knowledgeable post this guidance program.
The girls of Nari Niketan and staff appreciated and extended their gratitude to the Army for educating them on such an important issue of women empowerment. A total of 20 girls attended the event
