Ganderbal:-The group of 3 persons Abbas Ali S/O Mohd Bakir, Yawar Hussain S/O Haider Ali Lone and Syed Qamar Ali S/O Syed Ibrahim residents of Mirgund Budgam started trekking expedition on a peak in Sonmarg near fish point. After covering some distance the trio reached at a steep cliff which stalled their movement and they were unable to climb down thereby jeopardising their safety.
As the three youth could not move out to safety, Police Station received their SOS calls
and immediately pressed their rescue teams into action.
The rescue teams scaled the heights and brought down all the three persons back safely. The rescue teams included SHO Sonamarg Inspector Aftab Ahmad and acted swiftly under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS and SSP Ganderbal Shri Suhail Munawar Mir-JKPS.
Locals and the family members of the rescued youth have thanked Police for their quick response and securing lives of ordinary citizens.
Ganderbal Police is requesting trekkers not to plan the expedition on precarious routes and without help and assistance from professional trekkers.
