On 15 August 2021, Machhal Higher Secondary School celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and participation from all the children. The schools were re-opened after a long break since the outbreak of Covid-19 and the Independence Day celebration being a pious occasion provided the students a platform to get together and participate in co-curricular activities.
The main highlight of the event was March past by National Cadet Corps(NCC) Cadets. The cadets marched to the tune of drum beats and showcased an immaculate drill display. This is the first time since the Independence that the cadets of NCC participated in the Marching Contingent during Independence Day Celebration. In a short duration of training, they showed a very high standard of drill and discipline during the march and salute procedure. Complete village was present to witness this great feat.
NCC was introduced at Machhal Bowl on 05th Jun 2021 after deliberate efforts of Indian Army. A total of 130 school children were enrolled as cadets for NCC training from local government schools of Machhal, Pushwari , Dudi, Ringpayeen and Chountwari. These students were enrolled under open vacancies. The provision of NCC uniform and zero bank accounts for these cadets at J & K Bank was also coordinated by the Indian Army. The training curriculum of NCC primarily focuses towards discipline, character building and skill enhancement. Drill instructors conducted the drill classes to include dress inspection, march past and salute. The students showed great zeal and fervor while participating in the drill sessions.
History was made when NCC cadets of Machhal Tehsil marched to the tune of drum beats during the flag hoisting ceremony and gave salute to the National flag. A new era has started in this bowl were national fervor and patriotism along with mainstream development will bring prosperity to this sector. Group dance, group songs, poem recitation and many other co curricular activities were also organized to mark the 75th Independence Day celebration at the school. At the end, the participants were awarded certificates by the School Principal and sweets were distributed to the students.
