Two men in charge of two big districts that want to progress but still held back for unforeseen reasons and could be some unimaginable ones too!
This one I will begin with a story yet again which I read when perhaps I was about thirteen year old kid.’
‘The Hunchback of Notre-Dame ‘Our Lady of Paris’, a novel by Victor Hugo, published in 1831 was something that I kept analyzing as to what he meant till I met a hunch back in Maisuma. He was deadly with the red eyes and was dangerous! The first conversation was, ‘Pehli Baar Mile Ho, baitho Sahyi’ I knew there was something happening around and mind you Maisuma is a difficult place to be in! I replied ‘Jaane ki Baatein Chod Do’! I will never meet the Hunchback again!’
‘The novel has been described as a key text in French literature and has been adapted for film over a dozen times, in addition to numerous television and stage adaptations, such as a 1923 silent film with Lon Chaney, a 1939 sound film with Charles Laughton, and a 1996 Disney animated film with Tom Hulce.’. But he was a wizard carrying stories of Maisuma!’
‘ In Districts of Poonch and Rajouri at that time something else too was happening and it was bad but thirty years later something else was also destined to happen. Some men got up and made sure at max a human beings life is eighty plus (if you are not queen Elizabeth) but how many days if you have a long life not more than 365x 80, they could be less or more! Days matter not years? Every day after some officials who made it to the chairs, be it elected or administratively after clearing the exams and taking oaths blurred it all up and thus the story of reminiscences of corruption took off!
The people said that they do not have the power to overrule the decisions taken but the officials did have the option! The latter never took that and perhaps that was one of the reasons as to why insurgency began in Kashmir!
This nutmeg of corruption had to be stopped anyhow because things were not in shape and the arrived Deputy Commissioner Inderjeet and Rajesh Kumar Shavan who believed in taking initiatives! And they took great ones!
I hope the legacy they would leave behind after retirement will be carried on (it’s a hope in hell yet could be a fact for indulgence tomorrow’! Because they are young and can do everything!’
I think the hotel was Mughal Darbar (Regal Roundel) and an elaborate discussion was to happen there. Two were my children and from Baramulla and Rajouri (could be adopted but now my own as all the arteries of heart.) The others happened to be from Jammu, I mean one from Udhampur and one from Katra. The Katra one I knew, he was my maternal brother and a fighter. But how these four got together is a puzzle which I will tell you in my Major’s diary. Very few would understand as to what happened, ‘the first question when I opened up was, ‘listen, I do not know your name but you look very intelligent’ She said nothing, she could not have because the times were as such. The reason was her brother was an agricultural engineer (that I came to know later but he is the best in studies of Maize plants) The second was another kid bubbling with energy and when she made a comment,’ Sir, why are you telling us, why not the MLA who indulges in mining of minerals in Kupwara’. I kept silent but did tell yet, ‘it’s a big story I will talk about it later’. The third Nazziya (Udhampur) said, ‘Sir, I want to become a top journalist?’ I wondered why she was telling me so? I would have called it quits but a statement had to be made, ‘Well the truth because it pays ultimately and in Jammu and Kashmir many truths are told and I think everything is a lies’! My brother from Katra looked at me and said, ‘Bhai Khana Hi Toh Khane Aaye Thhe’! Old story but carries a lot of worth because all three kids are superstars for me as I write this story where two gentlemen got awards for curing a few diseases, crime, corruption, terrorism, cheating, thug syndrome, lies are just a few. They are the men who are wanted in J&K!
This is a story of two DC’s
I would have done this story a long time back had my mother not woken me up and said a few things a couple of days back and one of them was that good guys only win in real life and in movies they are made to win. I did catch the same as tonight as Fabian Allen plucked it from nowhere to send back Liam Lvingstone. It’s a moment that counts. Inderjeet and Shavan have made it a habit of plucking with their fingers!
Inderjeet I know because he is brutally straight. He is bang on corruption but could be a great friend, in fact firing arrows. The story was of embezzlement of funds. Because the documents are there for prescription I will not write much because Inder cannot be wrong.. Haider my friend G H Haider did a good job, since trust matters!
Rajesh Shavan is another good man. He too stands out because of initiatives but he took none where ladies were picking up the slush and throwing away pick away mud and spoiling their clothes battered to the hilt! Had he done it, that would have been appreciable. Anyway, he is doing a great job! The ladies must have been contemplating and signifying to their husbands, ‘what wrong we did’ ! By the way, in that picture I white car standing? Were the men watching, by the way everyone has!
Ignorance was intolerable and waging corruption wars was the only solution but I did not opt for that! If someone tries, let us get into a Spanish Bull fight where a Bull is an eventual loser! Could be also a Matador dies or someone watching it! These two young men can do the impossible in the fight against corruption in Rajouri and Poonch! Both are Deputy Commissioners and they can do it!
