Meet Zaid Nabi, a young dreamer who was born over the banks of Wular lake and in the shadows of Harmukh mountains. Zaid belongs to Bandipora, in the northern valley of Jammu & Kashmir, which revered writer and saint Sheikh-Ul-Alam (R.A), refers to as a place of Alim, Adab and Aab (Literature, Wisdom and Water).
A student of class 12, Zaid is also an International Level Speaker & Author of the book “Cry Of Hatred Writer”. He co-authored 15+ books. He recently secured 1st position in J&K Writing Competition 2021 which was organised by The J and K Students Corner. Among his other achievements , is the title of “Pen Player of J&K 2021”. He won the Best Achiever’s Award 2021 under Best Writer Category , being the first person from J&K U.T to win this award . He also won the Exemplary Youth Award 2021 under the Best Writer Category. Last but more to come, Zaid bagged the Best Writer Of The Year 2021 by Flower Blossom Publications.
Currently, he’s working as a Campus Ambassador in International Model United Nations and Senior Editor in The JKSC.
“I initiated my schooling from Islamia Mission Secondary School Srinagar till class 7, where I found myself fascinated by the extremely beautiful culture of Kashmir’s capital city, surrounded by famous lakes and Mughal gardens. For high schooling, I came back to my hometown Bandipora with a spark and passion for Poetry and Literature enlightened in my heart.” said Zaid when Team TRK asked him about how he got inspired to write. After studying till class 10 in Army Goodwill School Bandipora, Zaid is now in class 12 and pursuing his education from Greenland Educational Institute Hawal Srinagar.
His Peregrination of Poetry commenced in 2020 when his English pedagogy Mr. Sheikhzada Mudasir told him, ” Zaid, I have seen a spark in you in the field of literature. Your thoughts are unique and different from others. Never let this spark go, keep working harder on it and be with it forever.” ” He used to call me” William Shakespeare of Bandipora” said Zaid with gleaming eyes,as he remembered his professors motivating words.
After writing for 5 months, he decided to give his poems a shape of book and he inscribed his amassment of poems namely “CRY OF HATRED WRITER”.
“CRY OF HATRED WRITER has many poems and each poem serves a different purpose. It deals with a different perspective of pain and heals a different ache. It takes readers through a journey of the most bitter moments of life and yet find sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere, if one is willing to stare hard.” explains Zaid about his book. Team TRK noticed how philosophical Zaid is, at such a tender age.
The book has 50 enriching poems which takes readers to the most painful moments of life and derives pleasure in them. “From that day till today, I am continuously writing about love, life, happiness, sorrow and other such myraid emotions of human life,” explains Zaid about his genre.
Initially he drew criticism from book reviewers that this writing is just a ‘waste of time’, and that ‘he is a meaningless and shallow writer’. But, he continued his work undeterred and went on to become a full fledged author in just 5 months. Now, he writes novels & additionally, started writing in urdu language also.
