In a statement to the media, Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah said that he had a very fruitful meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He touched upon various topics including the security situation in Kashmir, faultlines and strengths of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, and empowerment of neglected youth in the valley. He advised the Home Minister on how BJP can strengthen its roots in Kashmir valley by meeting the expectations of people. Sajid highlighed the problems of the people to the Home Minister. In the memorandum submitted to the Union Home Minister, Sajid Yousuf mentioned a crucial point on how to boost tourism in his native Lolab valley by developing tourist infrastructure and roads especially the construction of the Diver-Bandipora road which will reduce travel time, thus enhancing trade prospects and generating employment in his constituency Lolab as well as in all the adjoining areas.
“I feel honoured that Hon’ble Home Minister gave me this opportunity to meet me even his brief trip to the valley. He listened very keenly and promised to help in every possible way”, said Sajid after the meeting.
