Budgam Police carries out market checking and drive against violators of COVID-19 Guidelines. Rs 20,480/= fine imposed
BUDGAM, April 16: In order to discourage hoardings/over pricing and keeping in view the surge in Covid-19 cases, comprehensive market checking and drive against Covid-19 violators was conducted by Budgam police along with civil officers & various Municipal Committees of district Budgam.
The drive was held at towns to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic and also to discourage hoardings/over pricing.
During the drive, people including drivers, pedestrians, shopkeepers, passengers, employees and others were fined for not wearing face masks and not following other SoP of covid19 containment .
Fine to the tune of Rs 20480/= imposed upon the violators.
SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS said that the aim and objective of the drive is to ensure wearing of face masks and following of other mandated SOPs, besides focussing on smooth supply of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadhan. He also appealed the people of Budgam to adhere to the guidelines/SOPs with regard to Covid-19 and wearing face masks whenever they venture out of their homes.
