Civic Military Interaction to combat Covid19 held at Baramulla

Baramulla, 17 Apr 2020

On Friday, Major General Ashok Singh, YSM, SM General Officer Commanding, Kilo Force visited District Commissioner Baramulla, to review the overall situation in the district amid the fight against Covid-19.

Also present at the review were Brigadier Naresh Kumar Misra, Commander Hyderbegh Sector, Mr G N Ittoo Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla and Mr Abdul Qayoom, SSP Baramulla along with the Commanding Officers of the local Rashtriya Rifles Battallion and Mr Zeeshan Khan , Nodal officer Covid 19 Baramulla .

The interaction included discussion on the prevailing security situation with special emphasis on status of Covid-19 spread in the District, the preparedness to contain it and future course of the joint  civic military action plan for defeating the pandemic. 
Mr G N Ittoo , Deputy Commissioner gave inputs on civil administration’s ongoing efforts to fight the pandemic and appreciated the support rendered by the Indian Army in the same. Mr Abdul Qayoom, SSP Baramulla put forward his views on the present security situation in Baramulla  and also highlighted actions being taken jointly  by the Baramulla Police and Army to defeat Covid-19.
The GOC reaffirming all possible support from the organization  provided Sanitisation kits and home made masks  to the Civil administration. He reiterated that Indian Army will leave no stone unturned to defeat this pandemic in coordination with civil administration and will continue carrying out number of actions like ensuring enforcement of lockdown, spreading awareness amongst local populace, helping civil administration in contact tracing and helping the needy in this challenging time.
