Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department visits Shopian inaugurates Child Care Institute for girls.

Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department Sheetal Nanda today visited Shopian and Inaugurated Child Care Institute, One Stop Centre for Women at Old DC Office Complex Shopian established under Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Deputy commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Mission Director, ICPS, Harvinder Kour, Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Hussain,District Social Welfare Officer, Shopian, Showkat Ahmed and other concerned officers and officials were present at the inauguration.

At the inaugural function, Commissioner Secretary highlighted the importance of imparting good and better quality education to the girls for a better future of our society and stated that it is one of the most crucial steps for achieving long-lasting and sustainable development. Sheetal stated that we must always make sure that we provide quality education to the students and take measures for the safety and protection of those who need it. She also requested the people of Shopian to join hands and lending their helping hands in looking after the newly established Institutes.

Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs alongwith Women & Child Development have been working continuously and relentlessly for the development and protection of infants, mothers and children, youth, older persons, person with disabilities and tribal people, said Sheetal and applauded the Department of Social Welfare for their tremendous work.

The Officers and officials of Social Welfare Department were also present.
