Cricket Tournament organised by Indian Army at Shivpora Srinagar

Srinagar, 31 Oct : A Cricket Tournament for locals was organised as part of Operation Sadhbhavana by Badami Bagh Rashtriya Rifles at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shivpora on 28 & 29 Oct 2020. The event aimed to motivate the young cricketers of the valley, equipped them with cricket kits.

On 28 Oct the first match was conducted between Crease Masters Cricket Club of Eidgha, Ganderpora and Kashmir United of Batwara and subsequently second match was conducted between Eidgah Warriors of Eidgha, Ganderpora and Iqbal Cricket Club of Pandrethan which were led by Adil, Salman, Umer and Mehraj respectively. 

On 29 Oct 2020 the final match was conducted between Crease Masters Cricket Club and Iqbal Cricket Club in which Crease Masters Cricket Club defeated the Iqbal Cricket Club by 90 runs.

All the teams displayed outstanding skills, sportsmanship and camaraderie. The 20 over match was well contested. The event was witnessed by the local population who cheered and motivated all the teams.

The cricket tournament would motivate young cricketers to hone their skill thereby enabling them to participate at state and national level tournaments.

The participants and their families expressed their gratitude to Army for undertaking such noble endeavors and also promised to support the Indian Army in all its future endeavors.
