Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today appealed to the people of Kishtwar district to continue the following of COVID Appropriate Behaviour to avoid the spurt in number of positive cases.
He was addressing a press conference in his office chamber today.
Giving details, the DC revealed that district has witnessed an unprecedented change this week in the number of COVID19 positive cases reported.
He mentioned that the best part of the current COVID scenario in the district is that there is no COVID positive patient admitted in District Hospital Kishtwar at present but the worst part is that the number of COVID positive cases reported this week has been increased manifold that is from 22 reported previous week to 44 cases reported this week.
besides he disclosed that the weekly positivity rate percentage recorded has been 0.66 per ent as against the 0.33 percent of last week.
DC Kishtwar also briefed that during the 2nd surge 2020 Covid positive cases have been reported so far out of which 1946 have recovered.
He further informed that there are still 58 active cases in the district.
He therefore appealed the people to continue the following of COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and vaccinated themselves.
As for as the COVID mitigation measures are concerned he informed that the district administration is soon going to commission the Oxygen generation plant which will ensure high flow oxygen supply to the designated COVID Hospital Kishtwar.
He also informed that 5 new micro-containment zones has been notified in township and it’s periphery owed to the new COVID positive cases reported in these hamlets.
He said that test-track-treat and tika strategy has been placed in these areas to contain and manage the spreading virus effectively and efficiently.
