Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Handwara subdivision to take stock of development activities being carried out in the subdivision.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by District Development Council Member Rajwar, Mir Sulimaan and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected Solid Liquid Resource Management (SLRM)
at Bakhiaker, coming up at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. He was informed that the SLRM is a unique waste management asset, first of its kind in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited Khaipora in Rajwar Handwara and inspected Agriculture Farm, Mini stadium and Administrative Complex. Deputy Commissioner expressed his gratitude for developing the area on modern lines. He announced that the Agriculture Farm shall be upgraded with more 5 kanal of land , raising its value up to 10 kanals. He said that the Agriculture Farm shall become asset in the area which will work at training centre for farmers, apart from yielding high variety of different vegetable seeds and crops.
Deputy Commissioner said that the farm will provide alternate income soure in Agriculture sector. He also congrats local administration and all stakeholders for their best efforts in developing the area.
Later, Deputy Commissioner convened a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara and reviewed the developmental profile of the subdivision.
