Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police have been arrested a notorious drug peddler & recovered 44 Kgs Poppy straw from Lakhripora area of Budgam.
Upon information about the drug peddlers in Lakhripora area of Budgam, police party of Police station Budgam searched the house of one Reyaz Ahmad Bhat and recovered two suit cases filled with 44 Kgs of poppy straw kept concealed in his house complex.
Accordingly the accused was arrested with details as :- Riyaz Ahmed Bhat son of Bashir Ahmed Bhat resident of Lakhripora Budgam
In this regard Case FIR number 278 /2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam & investigation taken up.One drug peddler fled from the spot shall be arrested soon.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
