JAMMU: Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday renamed his party. Azad wants to get it registered as Progressive Azad Party. When he floated his party, Azad named it as Democratic Azad Party. A public notice has also been issued in this regard.
An application has been submitted to the Election Commission for renaming the party. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister launched his political party on September 26, 2022. While launching his party, he said that the party would be based on the principles of democracy.
Azad resigned from the primary membership of the Congress on August 26.
