In its continuous efforts and war against menace of drugs Handwara Police today arrested one notorious drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station vilgam.
Today a police party of Police Station Vilgam established a naka near Tehsil Office Tarathpora. During naka checking one person was intercepted in a suspicious condition who on seeing the naka party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended by the naka party. On preliminary questioning the suspected person disclosed his identity as Maroof Ahmad Badana S/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Hafrada.During his personal search 300 grams of brown sugar* has been recovered from his possession, accordingly he has been taken to Police Station Vilgam for further investigation.
A case FIR NO. 100/2021 U/S 08/21 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused person in police station Vilgam and investigation has been taken up. The accused person is said to be a hardcore drug peddler who is supplying drugs among youth of the area.
The war against drug menace will continue to make the society drug free.
People in general have hailed the efforts of Handwara police in curbing the menace of drugs. Handwara police again appeals the general public of the area to share all information about the social evils so that timely action can be taken againt the culprits.
