Sopore Police seized illicit timber and arrested accused involved in the commission of crime.
Police station Panzla received an information that some smugglers have laden timber upon horses and are smuggling it to another places for illegal sale etc. upon this Sopore police established a special naka at Takiya Panzla and arrested one smuggler along with horses carrying illicit timber in shape of logs laden by the smugglers for illicit trade transporting to other locations of sopore.
The arrested accused on preliminary questioning deposed his identity as:
Abdul Majeed Chopan S/O Abdul Aziz resident of Sain Satrena Rafiabad.
Accordingly the illicit timber alongwith horses were seized.
Consequent upon this Case FIR number 70/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Panzla and investigation taken up.
