Humdard E Kupwara Battalion Celebrated World Health Day at Murhi Kupwara
Taking further its constant strife to connect with people and bridge the gap between awam and administration, Humdard E Kupwara Battalion celebrated World Health Day at Murhi. A Gram Sabha with representatives of PHE and PDD departments was also organised on the ocassion.
A lecture on health issues in hilly areas was conducted by BMO Kalaruch. He acquianted the villagers with ailments resulting from extreme cold weather and ill hygiene in hilly areas. He also emphasised the importance of a clean household and clean environment for healthy living. Villagers from far flung areas of Murhi attended the lecture and benefitted from the valuable tips given by the BMO.
A Gramsabha of villagers with representatives of PHE and PDD departments was also conducted on the ocassion where grievances of the villagers related to water and electricity supply were addressed. The officials also told the villagers about forthcoming projects of their departments aimed at betterment of these services.
Water proof sheets were also distributed to the villagers whose houses were damaged due to recent heavy rains.
The villagers thanked the administration and Army for this step towards increasing their awareness and helping them out in the hour of need. “I have benefited from the talk and will implement these steps to clean my house and follow a healthy life style” said Mohd Rafiq from Ladda with a jubliant smile.
