Srinagar, 20 Oct : Former Minister and Vice-President J&K Apni Party Usman Majid has totally criticised the decision of Kashmir university Law department for the conduct of offline examination.
Usman said, University of kashmir’s dual approach for conducting online exams for various UG and PG courses at its main & offsite campuses, and offline exams in Law department has irked students who alleged that it is not only “discriminatory” but will also expose them to risk in the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
The universities have a level of autonomy, but they themselves should find innovative ways to deal with a situation rather than have an “elitist approach and say we have decided, this is what is going to happen and we are not going to see the situation on the ground”.
Thrusting these decisions on poor students is very poor management of education, Usman said.
Usman majid said, keeping in view the genuine grievances of the Law students, University Administration should immediately withdraw its notification order of conducting offline exams and shift to online mode of examination.
