Yesterday (10.09.2020), NIA filed a Charge-Sheet before the NIA Special Court, Kolkata in connection with NIA Case No. RC-20/2020/NIA-DLI (West Bengal LeT Online Recruitment Module Case) against accused Ms. Tania Parvin @ Isranoor @ Refite d/o Alamin Mondal, Village Malayapur, PS Baduria, District North 24 Parganas, West Bengal u/s 13 & 39 of UA(P) Act.
2.Background of the case is that on 18.03.2020, on the basis of a reliable source information, West Bengal Police arrested Ms. Tania Parveen d/o Alamin Mondal, Village Malayapur, PS Baduria, District North 24 Parganas, who was associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba(LeT), a proscribed organization. The State Police registered the case u/s 121A, 124A, 120B, 419 & 420 of IPC, sections 10, 13, 15, 18, 18B, 20, 38 & 39 of UA(P) Act and 66F of Information Technology Act in PS Baduria, District North 24 Parganas. NIA re-registered the same as RC-20/2020/NIA/DLI dated 05.04.2020.
- Investigation revealed that the accused was a college student and had got radicalised in the cyberspace by Pakistan based cadres of LeT . Tania, gradually became part of about 70 jihadi groups on social media, which propagated terrorist ideology advocating skewed version of Islamic Jihad with an aim to further radicalise and recruit impressionable Muslim youth. The accused was also active in various Palestinian and Syrian Jihadi social media groups. Investigation further revealed that the LeT cadres based in Lahore, Pakistan had introduced the accused to the officials of Pak Intelligence Agency, ISI, who tasked her to open fake Facebook profile and befriend armed force members in India to obtain sensitive strategic information.
