It was a big time move by 10 Div as they came up with an idea of a bakery exclusively dedicated to the women and the name was appropriate and more importantly for hope as it was christened as ‘Asha bakery’ and the bakers were all women chefs!
-‘The most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence to move on and the best way is to get them into an occupation so that they can be self reliant and Asha bakery is an outlet that can make them go on pathways to success’
-‘By the way, baking is an art and it’s the expertise that matters that tickles the tongues of humans. Who better than the kitchen empresses realise that. They know the art where they are best at. At baking they are super specialists and who better than 10 Div stationed at Akhnoor could foresee that!’
-‘ Who better than the Indian Army recognizes and endorses the fact that women deserve to be celebrated for their extraordinary contributions to society, remarkable triumphs and unmatched fearlessness. Despite gender inequalities across all sectors, women continue to thrive and beat the odds. That’s why we’re rounding up the best quotes from women about strength to empower, motivate and inspire you to keep up the good fight. Bakery is one way to do so because work pays and hard work pays a lot. ‘ Asha bakery is just a beginning although small to start with but tomorrow it may become a twister! Everything starts with a dot and a woman knows it!’ 10 Div had understood that and that is why they went for this enterprise!’
-‘ Who does not know Audrey Hepburn and she did say this once, I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles. And at times they happen for women when they give birth to a child. It could be me, you or anyone else’!
-’I have read about plenty of women who began from nothing and became everything. In this big collage of women of substance I cannot forget one name and she was, Ava-Du-Vernay and this is what she had this to tell her sisters anywhere on the planet, ignore the glass ceiling and do your work. If you’re focusing on the glass ceiling, focusing on what you don’t have, focusing on the limitations, then you will be limited. Obviously she wanted the girls/women to roll on and fight it out and create a space for themselves. Difficult it is but there is nothing that cannot be done! 10 Div is teaching the same lesson to the women of Akhnoor!’
-‘The oldest known ovens were unearthed in Croatia in 2014. They are estimated to be 6,500 years old. The Egyptians were also pioneers in baking as the first recorded civilization to use yeast in their bread as long ago as 2600 BC. Then, there was the Roman Empire’s Baker’s Guild established around 168 BC. This organisation, called the Pistorum, recognized bread bakers as skilled artisans. In fact, baking was held in such high regard that a festival was held once a year to celebrate Fornax, the oven goddess.’
-‘Champions keep playing until they get it right. And women are the champions because they run the civilizations. We would not have been born if the women would not have been there. Their status and size does matter’! It always did down the civilizations that have now generated into a technological generation. But still the basics are a necessity, obviously cooked or baked food’!
A lady, be it your mother, sister, wife or a friend will always tell you, do not worry about who gets the credit or praise of the work done. Continue work to give your best. Your reward may come unexpectedly. But do realise that one or the other hand was behind you!’
These are the things we forget but some great men do remember them and the the top men in 10 Div did something something exceptional and this is what they went in for:
-The Indian Army has instituted a venture ‘Asha Bakery’ as part of its women Empowerment initiative in Akhnoor.’
-‘The venture is aimed to accord livelihood and self-reliance to the women of Bhanwaran and other villages around Akhnoor.’
– Asha Bakery is an enterprising initiative which would further strengthen the sterling bond between the Indian Army and the Awam of J&K, in the quest for hope and a prosperous future.
-From the picture with the story, it can be easily made out the girls/women wre brimming with enthusiasm because this creation of empowerment was exclusively for the ladies and they can carry on breaking the shackles in the mindset that they can be reduced to the holders of domestic life! If they have the talent then it is time to explode and move ahead!’
– The message from the banks of the legendary Chenab was clear, ‘we women can do the impossible because our brothers in the Indian Army stand behind us like unrelenting hard rocks’!
In the end I will say that most of us feel that women are more emotional, less stable than men. Not true! I think by nature a woman is more stable. Life gives her so many different things to cope with, and she learns almost from infancy to cope and not to let it show. A woman who has married and brought up children has had a thousand emergencies, illnesses, broken plumbing, appliances refusing to operate, the children’s naughtiness, her husband’s moods, the bills and has trained herself to take them all astride. But this domestic and the women from villages in Akhnoor this is a traditional routine! I think that it is time to shed off the cloak and move on! One such opportunity has been created by 10 Div. For sure many more would be in the offing!
