In another attack by terrorist, 11th since the beginning of 2021, five more lives of young sons of Kashmir have been taken away by in the Sopore attack. As confirmed by DGP Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh, two local terrorists identified as Fayaz War and Mudassir Pandit from Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire on a joint team of police and CRPF at a naka in Arampora, Sopore.
All five lives lost in this attack are residents of Kashmir, leaving behind mourning mothers, orphaned kids and helpless widows who are asking the question, “Why are the sons of Kashmir, killing their brothers from Kashmir?”
The two cops (Constables Waseem Ahmed Bhat, Narbal Srinagar and Showkat Ahmed Parray, Goripura Budgam) martyred in this attack were regular Kashmiris going about their daily duty, to keep their fellow residents secure and working to provide for their families. Two other police personnel Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar and SPO Danish Ahmed were also injured.
Three innocent civilians (Bashir Ahmed Khan r/o Mohalla Taliyan, Sopore; Showqat Ahmed Shalla r/o Shalimar Colony; Nayeem Ahmed Khan r/o Mahrajpora, Sopore) who lost their lives in the senseless firing by the two terrorists paid the price for being ‘in the way’ of terrorists who have no regard for human life and humanity.
The frequency of such devious tactics are especially on the rise, the 12 June attack in Sopore is 11th such attack in Kashmir since the start of this year and 3rd in Sopore. It shows a pattern, where terrorists are in discriminatory targetting police and defense personnel ensuring civillian casualties in different areas of Kashmir to propagate an environment of terror and unrest to manipulate it through incorrect representation of actual events on social media and to not allow people to get used to normalcy.
Moreover, where the state agencies (local and district) are working together with the Indian Army and civilians to educate young children and create opportunities for Kashmiri youth to bring back employment and development to this beautiful valley marred by decades of violence, the terrorists are spewing bullets and hurling grenades at Kashmir to perforate the hearts and spirits for parents, wives, sisters and children of Kashmir.
The question we want to ask the young sons of Kashmir going down the dark path of militancy, violence and terror is, “Why is a brother killing a brother in Kashmir?”
