Long time ago I loved reading phantom comics by Lee Falk! But one picture came in front of me of a person standing on the highest point on the ridge line trying to prove himself to be something which he cannot be! He claimed himself to be of PAAF!
-‘The logic of the terrorist is broken. The man just can’t think straight. When you make people afraid their empathy centre shuts down, they become less logical, more primitive and harsh. That is what is exactly happening in UT Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan continuing its support to the terrorists. Thus the terrorist is a huge part of the problem. They think they’re speaking up for their cause when in reality they are shooting both friend and foe in the foot and eventually themselves. The killings of harmless civilians in Kashmir and sudden upsurge in terror activities on this side of Pir Panjals is a direct result of that. But anyway that in due course of time would be taken care of’!

‘A story burst out from the Twitter handle that a fresh group backed by Pakistan yet again came on to the scene and this development came into forebeing after the special status of J&K had been scrapped! This was nothing new because right from the days of JKLF, followed by a plethora of indigenous groups came on to the terror coliseum of Kashmir only to subsequently decimated but the survivors were Hizbul Mujahideen (who too had begun to waver) but were given a fresh lease by the arrival of the new age terrorists but they also were tattered apart. Lashkar-e Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed were on the international terror list and Pakistan thus was reeling under the FATF pump. Pakistan knew that it was in a jam because the ogre that it had created was now snarling at its own creator. Thus began the manufacturing of yet another maneuver to give terrorism in Kashmir an indigenous face and give the Pakistan deep and dark state a respite because it was being blamed for supporting terror, an alibi. The JK Pir Panjal Peace Forum was another one as ISI somehow or the other wanted to keep the pot in Kashmir simmering.’ The TRF (The resistance Force) is nothing but an elongated branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba. PAAF too was Pakistan’s baby and was first spotted on social media platforms such as twitter and Telegram.’ Needless to mention all this was on social media and the account was being operated from Islamabad and as per the cyber experts it was from an Iphone. The frequency of the posts increased after Kashmir got back on the Internet. These social media accounts now had the target audience not many but a few.

‘In Kupwara, the police arrested six men who claimed to be part of the new group, The Resistance Front, or TRF. Their interrogation led the cops to their arms dump and the cache recovered was Apart from 89 hand grenades, a joint team of the army and state police seized 8 AK rifles, 10 pistols, 20-odd detonator fuses and ammunition. The assessment about the TRF’s links with the Lashkar-e-Taiba was confirmed when the TRF social media channels operating from Pakistan pushed out photographs of the terrorists killed in the Keran gunfight with the army’s Special Forces in Kupwara’s Keran sector. Five terrorists and an equal number of commandos were killed. It claimed that the five terrorists killed at the border were from the TRF. The route, which this group of infiltrators had taken, is believed to have been in use by Lashkar terrorists. The incidents continued and almost immediately the same appeared on the social media but the cyber security operators immediately latched on to the IP (Internet Protocol) address which laid back to Pakistan. And now this picture (the one with the story) has been uploaded on the internet on 17 October 2021 with a message where the usage of two words freedom fighters is prominent. We did mention in one of the pieces we wrote a couple of days before that there was a different pattern to the assault on the Indian soldiers in the recent two fire fights and there was a bigger hand behind it. This is what we were relating too because this was planned across the line of control for sure. But as per our sources this picture is of the ridge line in DKG in case it is not morphed!’
-‘The posterity has its own way of judging the events that have happened in the past. For sure the future kids of Jammu and Kashmir will not talk about what is happening now because there are a few men hell bent on taking the things to the edge fully well knowing as to what would happen in the end!’
-‘ But who will judge these insane men with no names at all? At best a tag does get hung around the neck or the thumb of the right foot with the body lifeless! The name is mentioned but with another miserable name Lashkar-e-Taiba or Jaish-e-Mohammed clearly signifying that the dead human was a terrorist’!
-‘But this man with his back towards the screens or viewers eyes and an assault rifle slung around was just an idiot who fell in love with death, he was just a miniscule object who could be dropped by a Dragunov sniper bullet in the middle of his two eyes! But the man did look like someone who wished that he could conquer the mountains ridden by forests!’ That was surely a dream that could not come true! But he still thinks that it can with the 32 bullets in his rifle magazine! Bas idea!’
-‘The balaclava, the rifle slung on the back and the attire all suggested one thing that it could be one of those vanishing hopes the man carried along with him! But one question still loomed large in my mind! It could be morphed also? The reply from the spark in my brain was unanimous, the insignia mattered! Difficult to read but still when washed with an appliance on the computer it could be seen as well as read. It was, of ‘People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAAF)’, an off shoot of the Lashkar-e-Toiba terror group!
‘For too long now, right and wrong, good and evil have been given new interpretations by the prophets of falsehood sitting in Pakistan and enjoying the fun as a few Kashmir young men take on to the path of self destruction’

I know many would have forgotten it but I do remember because militants, for the first time released camera footage of an encounter. It was on August 17, 2020 that in Kreeri Baramulla a militant attack had taken place. The attack was on a joint static check point that left two CRPF men and a special police officer dead. In the subsequent operation, three militants, including two top Lashkar militants and two Army men, were killed. That was the operational part of it. The video released showed militants attacking CRPF men with assault rifles. A security vehicle too could be seen parked nearby. That also meant that someone was clicking the pictures as well as making a video of the incident to be subsequently released! That was for the first time People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAAF) had done so!, But was it relevant? Could be or could not be? But the after action was a superb one by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. But this one I mean the picture (with the story) released is different because this is in forests that are close to the LOC! But it was on social media and it did make me scramble for the notes which I have a bad habit of making ever since my childhood! And I found out this which a year back I had jotted down:
In December 2020, a new militant group called the United Liberation Front (ULF) operating in Jammu & Kashmir made its first appearance on the online platform, Telegram. Prior to this, there was no mention of this group or its on-ground activities in the mainstream militant narratives or in the media.
Soon after its creation, it started sharing information about attacks and recruitment conducted by others such as The Resistance Front (TRF), Peoples’ Anti Fascist Front (PAFF), and so on. The main outlier here was that the legacy militant groups were not covered as much, but the alternatives were.
The name of this group and its abbreviation had a resonance of Kashmir’s first militant outfit, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. While the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front was popularly known as JKLF or KLF, which reportedly disbanded its militant wing in 1994, the new outfit brands itself in a similar branding fashion as the ULF, arguably giving it some historical weight. But it had to vanish and it did!
There has been an increased effort to secularize the propaganda of the outfits with emphasis on resistance instead of jihad or a holy war. The ULF used resist to exist as its slogan. The logo of this group used a Chinar leaf to give it a Kashmiri identity. Apart from that, the logo used sketches of a clenched fist and a falcon. Older groups such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Muhammad always borrowed religious iconography in their logos, flags, and slogans.
But this to me seemed theatrical and dramatized just for making their presence felt as did the other groups!

This picture (the one with the story) was also on social media with some comments that I would not wish to write as they were absurd using sentences like ’Freedom Fighters killed Indian soldiers’! Now these are the elements (though just a few) who are singing notes that no one is liking! Anyway leave this to the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police because these elements also would not be able to see the next tomorrow after a period of time! Most have not so let them also join the bandwagon! All I can say is that they are most welcome to the arena of death where the choice is still given, ‘give up or get wiped off’ to the terrorists! I mean from the men of the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police! The saner option still is giving up because this is sheer nonsense that should be got rid of but for that one needs clarity in the muddled brain! A few moving around like remotely controlled zombies still see a future in the chaos and this is rather baffling! Nothing they will achieve in the long run except for bullets piercing their fragile skins (forgettable death as many have) and a forlorn grave which no one bothers to remember in this fast moving world!
