Someone is trying to hold back the Mendhar Police but who exactly?
-‘This is not a high profile murder in any case so why is the Police acting in stutters? As per the father of the late boy there are people who are creating impediments and desperately want the case to be hushed up. The sources add that there are a few Police personnel who have indulged themselves in similar endeavors. Wonder why they are doing so? What was such an important thing or a high pedigreed secret that the 14 year old boy knew? There has to be something which the men wanting to stop the inquiry do not want to be exposed? What exactly’!
-‘ It cannot be a treasure dug in somewhere, it cannot be some mysterious murder to which Shariq was a witness or had seen it, similarly it cannot be a robbery in which Shariq was yet again the child who saw it happening? The people who are trying to create all sorts of chicanery are also the local political leaders. Why are they over indulging themselves? Was it an illicit relationship within the family about which the fourteen year boy knew? Could be possible because if reports are to be believed his mobile phone had been tampered with and had been formatted? Has the Police looked into the last aspect mentioned above?’?
-‘Someone who is trying to muffle up the inquiry does not want the facts to come out. First of all the Police did not register the case, if the reports are to be believed some people did not want the post mortem to be conducted and the Police too at that time were of a similar opinion, then the boy was buried in the night itself, what was the hurry and scurry in doing so is yet to be fathomed and when Rukkaiya raised hue and cry and wanted the Police to intervene, everyone was of the opinion that it should be sorted out by a Kacheri, i.e. comprise and within house settlement? Who was the person who was directing the events? The person who was doing so probably knows the killer or could be having a strong motive to silence Shariq which ultimately he was?
-‘Long investigations, recording of statements, calling the suspects again and again is all part of the probe and a lengthy process like long books, when read, are usually over praised, because the reader wishes to convince others and himself that he has not wasted his time on it. Similarly it seems that the police too are indulging in a similar matrix. It’s a simple case of who would have killed a fourteen year old boy found dead in a pond three months back? It’s not that they would not be knowing it by now? For sure they do and now probably a request for an inquest has been forwarded to DC Poonch and probably the body would be exhumed to get the expert advice on what could have happened? Had the police not wasted three months (which they did which obviously was not for solving the case) probably the killers would have been behind the bars by now. But they were not and moved about without any inhibitions and seeking a Kacheri solution. For sure this is not a primitive world and neither is it a primitive killing. One thing is sure this is not an accidental death!’
-‘I did ask the eldest sister of Shariq, Aashiya, as to what she wants for her brother. Initially she gave me a blank look but then subsequently did speak, ‘I do not know what happened, but he was a very loving brother but some shaitaan put him to death. My brother was a very loving boy and all we sisters adored him. But he is no more now. Mother and father are asking the police to catch the culprits and I’m sure that they would because they did something that even almighty Allah cannot pardon’. The kid was absolutely glum and stupefied because everyone in the household is sure that Shariq had his life snuffed out with utter disdainful methodology. Snuffed off and packed off under water. If the body was found in the vicinity of the locality then the killer had to be staying somewhere nearby and after killing perhaps did not know what was to be done with the body. The pond was the ultimate course taken! In any case, had it not been a killing, why was a compromise by Kacheri being suggested and propagated by many and that included the Police too?
Artists use frauds to make human beings seem more wonderful than they really are. Dancers show us human beings who move much more gracefully than human beings really move. Films and books and plays show us people talking much more entertainingly than people really talk, making paltry human enterprises seem important. Singers and musicians show us human beings making sounds far more lovely than human beings really make. Architects give us homes/marvelous buildings/concrete marvels which befuddle our eyes in which something marvelous is obviously going on. But what do murders give us? That eerie feeling that the same could happen with anyone? The fear that numbs the brain and paralyzes our thinking process. But there are the lawmen to deal with the murderers and if they are sincere to their jobs they can solve cases within no time. But here they first sat over the case and thought that the passage of time theory would work but the same has not and now when they have been cajoled to move on, they are making the process lengthier. Come on, a mother has lost her son and four sisters, their only brother and they (Police) are still listening to the influential men to go slow? It is simply not understood why? Though the reasons are well known! Spelling them out would be an embarrassment for the Top Brass of the Police. It’s not a difficult case to solve in any case but that can only happen if the Mendhar Police desires to be on fast skate boards which at the moment they aren’t!
A man who is not a father to his children can never be a real man and Sadiq for sure though handicapped is a father who has not yet got over the bar as far as his son’s death goes. He cries silently but cannot do much about it because he stands in front of a huge wall and he needs assistance to get over it. Similarly Rukkayia is a mother, to be honest a large hearted one who is banging her head in the Police Station Mendhar and hoping that it does not go down the history of the family as a gruesome accident in which a mother could not do anything for her only son. It would be a personal insult as such the call for the Kacheri was a slur!
The parents of Shariq have taken a solidified stance and they expect the Police also to do the similar act. Maybe they are but what is actually happening no one knows. But Rukkayia is point blank, ‘why should I be afraid now? Strange men came to kill my son and they did that cold blooded act. He was just fourteen years of age! I want to know his fault from his killers and that is that and it is Mendhar Police who have to find it out! They are honorable men and the people respect them here, they do not have to give me other assurances as if they were lawyers. They need to investigate and charge the culprits. That is their job and they have to do it and I’m sure that the killers would not be in peace, they can never because they took the life of an innocent boy! If the Police do not act, I along with my daughters are going to stand at the door steps of the LT. Governor of UT J&K because it is my son who has been murdered!’
Mendhar Police should know that there are things that have to be done and you have to do them because that is part of their duty and they need not talk about them. They don’t have to justify them. Because murders can’t be justified! They just have to crack this case and then forget about it! I’m sure they have the ability to do it! If not then resignation is a better substitute!
