The sticky bombs are deadly as they can hit vehicles in a devastating way but the security forces had sniffed them and Mendhar Police snuffed them out!
What exactly is a sticky bomb?:
-‘It’s an explosive charge covered with an adhesive that when thrown against an object (such as an armored vehicle) sticks until it explodes with a thunderous impact! The use of it is since late thirties of the last century but in the World War-II the allies used them against the German armor and in the modern day hidden warfare it is the terrorists who are using them and this information had been collected and assimilated by the Indian intelligence agencies (more about it later in the script)! Finally corroborated and disseminated’
-‘The terrorists will acquire the technology, equipment and other things that are usable for spreading terror. Bombs, IED’s, weapons and bullets are all part of this gamut. Thus the sticky bombs too are because they can do immense damage with their sticky menace. But district Police Poonch led by the ‘Doctor’ (I like to call him that way because the man always talks of some tremendous logics as to how a job is to be executed), SP Vinod Kumar, SDPO ZA Jaffri and the SHO Manzoor Kohli were yet again on a seek mission that was deftly planned by DIG Rajouri Poonch Range Vivek Gupta and the bigger gun ADGP Mukesh Singh. Obviously with such an executive arsenal at work meticulously the job had to well done and it was! Of course the officers and men in the operation zone copied the instructions ditto and yet again nullified a possible plan where these sticky bombs were to be used. The methodology was simple and the message to the terror mongers even more simpler, ‘no more games. No more bombs. No more walking. No more fun because it is business time. If you are bad then enjoy your own medicine in the payback time since we will strike back ruthlessly.’
-‘To be honest I can feel that there is a definite change in the attitude of the people because the positivity is brimming now as the timidity has disappeared. In the past like scared lambs they used to say, they want us to be afraid. They want us to be afraid of leaving our homes. They want us to barricade our doors and hide our children. Their aim is to make us fear life itself! They want us to hate. They want us to hate one another. They want us to practice aggression and perfect antagonism. Their aim is to divide us all! They want us to be inhuman. But that era has gone since now they vehemently say, but we will not listen. They think their damned bombs will defeat us. They are so ignorant they don’t understand that we have come out of all that nonsense. It’s our time to hit back and we will’! They are!
‘It’s all because of some great work done by the Indian Army, BSF and Jammu and Kashmir Police. They did it again today!’
Why is Pakistan not understanding a simple logic, we do not need guns and bombs to bring peace, we need love and compassion. Bombs are basically used for mass murders and the sticky bombs recovered today by Poonch Police were basically for that very purpose otherwise the consignment would not have reached here. But it did and that means it was to be used sooner or later.
I The challenge to the security forces:
It was February 14, 2021 when Samba Police recovered 15 small IEDs, believed to be sticky bombs, and 6 pistols. This was the beginning and the instructions were unleashed by the security agencies that the terrorists were on to something new and that could have a telling effect on the security forces convoys and this goddamn thing was real because history is a testimony to it.
The bomb was designed early in the Second World War, when Britain had no effective anti-tank weapons to counter German armored vehicles. Although not officially adopted, the Mk I was issued to both the Home Guard as well as the Army in 1941, and was declared obsolete in January 1946.
The grenade, hand, anti-tank No. 74, commonly known as the S.T. grenade or sticky bomb, was a British hand grenade designed and produced during the Second World War. The grenade was one of a number of ad hoc anti-tank weapons developed for use by the British Army and Home Guard after the loss of many anti-tank guns in France after the Dunkirk evacuation.
So the mechanism is very effective against the vehicles and it was a cause that perturbed the security forces and a cornucopia of instructions flowed and one such instruction was as follows.
This was the latest tactical shift in the strategy of militants. The instructions were to restrict movement of civilian vehicles alongside convoys. Sticky bombs are explosive devices that can be attached to vehicles and can be remotely detonated or set off by timers. They are lethal, to cut it short.
The use of sticky bombs basically is to instill fear while avoiding large scale civilian casualties.
In February the description that came out of the bomb, It is a coin-shaped magnet at the bottom of a small container that enables the assailant to stick the bomb to a metal surface, with the target mostly being a moving vehicle.
Unlike remote control sticky bombs, these ones are switch bombs, with a timer of 5-10 minutes, which gives enough time for them to flee.
Many explosive experts from the NSG (National Security Guards) at that time said that the sticky bomb found in Samba was similar to the one used in the February 13, 2012, attack outside Israeli embassy. As a reminder for the readers on February 13, 2012, an Israeli embassy car exploded when a magnetic bomb stuck to it went off in a high-security area in New Delhi, injuring the wife of an Israeli envoy.
The one which was found in Samba was a cone-like metallic structure, which was a more professional work. It could not have been assembled by locals. It was a finished product ready to be used.
If it is placed on a bus or car the damage could be maximum.
Al-Qaeda is believed to have the expertise in manufacturing these types of IEDs. They were used in Afghanistan to deadly effect.
I used to think it was possible for an artist to alter the inner life of the culture. They painted or sang to tell humanity deeper things of life but now it seems that bomb-makers and gunmen have taken that territory and thus making lives miserable.
II. The recovery in Poonch today:
Suddenly things have taken a disturbing turn in Rajouri and Poonch. Though the Army on the LOC and hinterland along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces have tightened the security grid but incidents such as these happening in Rajouri and Poonch cannot be ruled out. This was yet another success for the Army, BSF and District Police Poonch and this is what they did:
An improvised explosive device having four sticky bombs was recovered from the possession of a man in Mendhar area.
On spot on and workable information of BSF a joint ambush was established at first Morh (turn) Kotan by Jammu and Kashmir police, 72 battalion BSF and army.
During checking a suspicious person identified as Mehmood Hussain son of Mohammad Munshi of Kasbalari was apprehended and during his personal search an IED having four sticky bombs and an amount of rupees 10,500 was recovered from his possession.
In this regard an FIR no.313/2021 u/s 23 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (ULAPA) has been registered in police station Mendhar. Police said further investigation is going on.
It can be heavily analyzed that ahead of Independence Day, a major tragedy has been averted. All bombing is the devilish face of terrorism. The people have now seen far too many and they are fed up, they do not want to see the signs such as a sickening cloud of dust moving everywhere and turning humans into lifeless beings with bodies mangled. Another one, there were no people on the street anymore. There were only carrying bags lying and human flesh splattered all over’! This is a grotesque scenario and brain chilling to extreme limits! This has happened in Jammu and Kashmir but should not happen anymore! That is the reason that the avengers are extra vigilant and on the button always and every time round the clock!
