PAGD candidate speaks in support of Pakistani origin candidate; demands counting of DDC votes in Drugmulla which was stopped due to her citizenship

DDC candidate, who is native of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Soumia Sadaf is presently married to a Kashmiri and living in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Soumya Sadaf claims that she had campaigned hard and her election symbol was a laptop.  She had submitted her passport, election card and Aadhaar card while submitting nomination papers to the authorities, but the counting of votes in this constituency was stopped on the day of counting of votes on December 22 and since then the election results of this constituency have not been announced.

She contested DDC elections from Dragmulla seat of north Kupwara demanded that the Election Commission should start the counting of votes immediately and should announce the election results in the constituency as soon as possible. 

Shabnam Lone of Drugmulla Block, who is contesting from the same seat, said that he had contested the election as a candidate of People Alliance for Gupkar Declaration but the counting of votes in this seat was stopped.  There is great concern among the candidates who contested the elections.

She added that Soumia had submitted her passport, election card and Aadhar card while submitting nomination papers to the authorities but during the counting of votes, counting in this constituency was stopped saying that wrong information was entered in her papers.  She added that if her papers were wrong then why they were not rejected while submitting nomination.
