Assadullah Orakzai, Pakistani-origin terrorist who was the ISIS Khorasan Head of Intelligence, was killed by the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the Afghan intelligence agency on Saturday in an operation near Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province, as reported by TOLO news.
“The Special Units of the NDS have eliminated Ziaurrahman known as Assadullah Orakzai, the native of Akhel Orakzai agency of Pakistan during a targeted operation,” the agency said in a statement late Saturday night.
Orakzai, the NDS said, was involved in plotting deadly attacks on a number of military and civilian targets in Afghanistan.
“Afghanistan’s regional and international partners should remember that Afghanistan is a key player in the fight against terrorism and will crush terrorists’ roots anywhere,” the NDS said.
ISIS Khorasan carried out the March 25 Kabul gurdwara attack in which at least 25 Sikhs were massacred.
On April 4, the NDS said it arrested Abdullah Orakzai, who is known as Aslam Farooqi, the leader of the Khorasan branch of Daesh and 19 other IS members including Qari Zahid and Saifullah known as Abu Talaha, during an operation by NDS special units.
