Police Commemoration Day was observed at District Police Lines Kupwara with all respect and reverence for those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. In this grand function all ranks and files of Police Kupwara participated.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion include GOC 28 Infantry Division Maj Gen A S Pendharkar, DDC Chairperson Irfan Panditpuri , DC Kupwara Doifode Sagar Dattatray, DDC Vice Chairperson Haji Farooq Mir , CO 41RR, CO 47 RR,DDC members, BDC members and representatives of other departments and families of martyrs. All the participants paid rich tributes to martyrs and praised their supreme sacrifice while discharging their duties and upholding the democratic credentials of our country.
On this occasion a comemmoration parade was held followed by floral tributes to martyrs.
On this Occasion SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas read over the names of all Police and CAPF personnel who got martyred during last one year while performing their duties.
Speaking on the occasion, the officer delibrated on the historical background of the day and eulogised the supreme sacrifices of these martyrs .
He expressed his committment towards the welfare of the families of all martyres. Expressing solidarity with the families of the martyrs, he said that Police Kupwara is duty bound to address the problem of all families of martyrs .
The officer directed all the subordinate formations to attend to the issues of families of the martyrs on priority so that they may not face any kind of inconvenience whatsoever. The officer revealed many initiatives aimed at redressing the problem of these families and lending a helping hand to them in the hour of need. He said we owe a lot to our martyrs and we have to keep their mission alive. On this occasion the families were presented Tokens of respect by Police Kupwara.
