25 year old Sanna Vani, from Budgam, had a special relationship with make-up from her childhood days, when she was studying in the 8th standard.
Sanna says ,” it all started in my childhood when I had a deep connection to doing make-up activities. People used to come to my home, including bride’s asking for their make-up to be done and I used to give them service at home.
And I had also opened a little salon in Lal chowk in those days.”
Speaking of challenges she faced, Sanna recalls “I was working as a Nurse at BB Cantonment with the Indian Army. But I left that job because of less salary. Then I decided that, I should take up make-up as a proffession, because it was not leaving me. I had it in mind to enter the world of make-up in a professional way now.”
Team TRK wnwuired about her professional training in make up. “I flew down to New Delhi in 2020 to learn a professional course on make-up. And I completed a 6 month’s course from “LAKME” in New Delhi, ” Says Sanna.
Miss Vani also says that nothing is easy here in Kashmir here for girls. ” I was no exception and I also faced the same problems that most professional, working girls suffer in Kashmir. When I entered this proffession, my relatives gradually stopped visiting us at our home, Just because I had chosen this field, which wasn’t in sync with our simple religious values. We also had some economical issue’s at that time.
However, things changed over time. Now the same relative’s are appreciating my success today, ” She brims with a smile.
“When I came back from Delhi, I used social media extensively for my work and I got a lot bookings from people, I am running a Salon ” GLAMUP MAKEUP STUDIO” at Hyderpora from last 6 year’s but as a professional since last 2 years.
Speaking of future plans, she adds, ” I intend to continue with this proffession, I have even broken ties with my relationship for this. That’s why I said I am a make-up Artist forever.”
When asked to leave a message for other young make-up enthusiasts, she said excitedly,”My message/ appeal to girl’s of Kashmir is that, do whatever you, and do it with respect, And show people with determination tyat you can reach the stars despite being a girl “.
