Ramadan is the ninth month of the islamic calendar, when Muslims fast during daylight hours. The Quran was first revealed during this month. The gates of Heaven are open now and Ramadan ul mubarak is a much revered and blessed month for Muslims all over the world, it is one of the five pillars of Islam which Muslims regard very highly.
This year Ramadan will be starting in the summer again, and due to the long hot days this will bring its challenges and pleasures. This month is a holy month where Muslims practice our faith also this month is known as the month where Allah Has sent us the Quran.
Ramadan is not just a month in which we refrain from food and drink for a few hours. It is a chance to make up for the time lost around the year in other work and revert to Allah, beg forgiveness for the sins done around the year, and finally, a chance to better the life awaiting in the Hereafter. This is the Night when sins are forgiven, Heaven is opened for certain people and the doors of Hell are closed for others. It offers every Muslim an opportunity to strengthen his Iman, purify his heart and soul, and to remove the evil effects of the sins committed by him.
The concept of charity during Ramadan is an amazing transaction indeed. Allah owns everything but yet when we share a tiny bit with others He promises a return for as many as up to 700 times. A simple smile is guaranteed to be rewarded. In fact sometimes a smile does more to a human soul than otherwise! And giving before being asked and giving more than what is asked, offers contentment and joy that is priceless.Look at how many gifts have been given to this Ummah – when Ramadan enters the gates of the Garden are opened and the gates of the Fire are closed.Let us InshaAllah practice ‘patience’ while being generous in ‘giving’, during our ‘fasting’ in this blessed month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a time for the preparation of the entire life. Allah tests some by giving too much and others by taking away the little had.It helps us control our desires and actions. It teaches us the importance of the qualities of humility, patience, cooperation, friendship, honesty, love etc.Let us make use of every moment of this great month with good deeds ranging from reciting the Holy Quran to giving charity to the poor and the needy.Do Tasbih of Astaghfaar at least 100 times daily as it is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
