Srinagar May 5, (TRK):- According to the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Reasi district administration demolished a house belonging to terror suspect Mohammad Auraf Sheikh on government land on Thursday. The operation was carried out with the assistance of the district police and independent witnesses, as well as local residents in the area. The demolition began at 1 pm and concluded at 6 pm.
The accused, Auraf, was a teacher at a government school and a resident of Baransal Gulabgarh under Mahore Tehsil. However, after the police established his involvement in explosions that occurred in buses at Katra and Narwal in Jammu, he was fired from his job.
Blasts Near Katra and Narwal Linked to Suspect Auraf Sheikh, Terror Module Busted by J&K Police
The Department of Information and Public Relations stated that Auraf Sheikh used sticky IEDs to carry out the blast in Kadmal near Katra, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and the injury of 28 others. In addition, nine individuals were injured in twin IED blasts that occurred in the Narwal area of Jammu.
The DIPR also revealed that the J&K Police had successfully dismantled the terror module operating from Pakistan with the arrest of Auraf Sheikh in connection with these incidents.
Previously, Auraf was found to have encroached upon government land, which was recovered by the district administration as part of their anti-encroachment campaign carried out by the Revenue department. (TRK)
