Poonch: The specially abled persons having permanent disability in the far flunged areas of Poonch district face great difficulties in their daily lives. This invariably makes them dependent on thier family members thus adversely affecting thier self esteem esp the old age and young. The provision of wheelchairs immensely helps these indls and makes their lives easy. Towards this Indian Army (Romeo’s force) identified the most needy persons of Surankote, Mendhar and Haveli tehsil of Poonch district and made an endeavor to help them. A solemn ceremony to distribute these wheelchairs was organised by the Indian Army at Jhullas village where a total of 14 beneficiaries were distributed state of the art and user friendly wheelchairs. The senior Army officials attended the ceremony and expressed their resolve to obviate the suffering of common populace, be it in the field of education, security or health as part of overall ” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav “.
It was heartening to see the gratitude in the eyes of the beneficiaries and AWAM towards the noble gesture on part of the Indian Army. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude with moist eyes and wished the Indian Army every success in their mission of bringing peace and prosperity in this remote region.
