A day after the decomposed body of Trilochan Singh Wazir (67), a former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council and National Conference leader, was discovered, the Delhi Police conducted a Friday post-mortem and found that he had been shot in the head.
Police said they had received a complaint from Trilochan’s brother Bhupendra Singh Wazir, who has named four people, including two suspects. He alleges that he had enmity with his brother. Preliminary investigation revealed that Trilochan had come to Delhi for treatment on August 23 and stayed in the same flat where one of the suspects was Harpreet Singh Khalsa, who works in an online news portal.
The second suspect, transporter Harmeet Singh, arrived in Delhi around the same time, and police are investigating whether they intended to target Trilochan first. The police have issued a lookout circular. Trilochan left the flat on August 25 after treatment. Harmeet then started living with Harpreet and stayed till September 2, when he shifted to an OYO hotel 30 meters away. It was on the same day that Trilochan returned to Harpreet’s flat,” said a senior official.
