In a bizarre incident, thieves posing as mobile company officials steal a mobile tower worth over Rs 19 lakh in Bihar’s Patna. Interestingly, the thieves took two days to dismantle the entire mobile tower, loaded the parts in a truck, and left the spot.
The incident took occurred in the Yarpur Rajputana area under the Gardnibagh police station in Patna. The matter came to the fore on Saturday after the company officials reached the spot to inspect a malfunctioning tower and discovered the theft of the mobile tower The owner of the land where the tower was installed informed that the tower was installed around 15-16 years ago, added reports.
The owner of the land also said the robbers introduced themselves as company officials and told him that the agreement was over. So, they will have to dismantle and take the mobile tower accordingly. Following this, the concerned company officials lodged a complaint with the Gardnibagh police.
As per the complaint, a gang of around 25 thieves armed with tools, gas cutters, and other equipment arrived on the scene to dismantle the tower. Meanwhile, police registered the theft case and initiated a search to track the robbers.
Recently, an entire diesel engine was stolen from a railway yard in the Begusarai district of Bihar. The thieves allegedly gradually stole the engine that was brought to the Garhara yard for repairs. They reportedly stole every piece of the engine by digging a tunnel into the yard.
On Saturday, the Railways informed that seven people were arrested in connection with the theft of spare parts of the engine from Garhara yard and “95 percent of the stolen items were recovered”. (Times Now)
