Protest was held on Sunday, outside of Sindh Governor House Karachi against Presidential ordinance of Pakistan Islands development Authority (PIDA) organized by Sindh Taraqi Passand Party
A group of thousands of people, Sindh writers, poets, nationalists, intellectuals, and people of every thought denounced the occupation of their lands by the Sindh Progressive Party in front of Governor House Chowkara Chowk.
The protest was against the federal government’s decision to take over two of the islands in the coastal area of Karachi and formation of the Pakistan Islands Development Authority through a recently passed Presidential Ordinance. The demonstration may attract support from other political parties, religious groups, and civil organizations, and so was well-attended. The STPP has recently organized protest rallies in Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Larkana, Hyderabad, and other cities in Sindh province.
A heightened security presence was on vigil in the vicinity of the rally. Localized disruptions to travel and business services in the area remained. There were no reports of Clashes between security forces and protesters .
