On Aug 24, 2022, FIR No. 96/2022 U/s 379, 427 , 511/ IPC had been registered at Police Station Vilgam for the theft of communication cables in Hafrada village.
Investigation was initiated. Based on leads developed during investigation, three accused involved in the theft were traced by joint parties of JKP and Army, and arrested. They have been identified as:
1. Owais Reyaz Lone
S/o Reyaz Ahmed Lone
R/o Redbugh, Kupwara.
2. Amir Ahmed Ganie
S/o Farooq Ahmed Ganie
R/o Check Keegam, Kupwara.
3. Nayeem Ahmed Bhagat
S/o Ab. Rashid Baghat R/o Gulgam Kupwara.
The stolen cables have been recovered from their possession. The vehicle with registration No. JK09/9702 used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
