Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Vice President & Former Minister Usman Majid on Wednesday visited the shrine of famous saint Nanga Baji (RA) at Malangam area of Bandipora to take stock of the arrangements for the approaching Urs there.
On the occasion Usman Majid interacted with the locals who apprised him about the paucity of basic and effective amenities in the adjoining areas of the Shrine. While interacting with the locals and the custodians of the shrine,Majid urged the government to ensure all facilities to the devotees during the Urs observance days.
“I have impressed on the local administration to make all possible arrangements for the forthcoming Urs. I had discussion with the caretakers of the shrine. I look forward to synchronized effort by the administration and the caretakers during the Urs days,” Majid said.
Usman Majid impressed upon the administration to ensure uninterrupted power supply, steady water deliverance to the shrine and adjoining areas in view of the forthcoming Urs of Nanga Baji (RA). In addition to that the concerned agencies should make it a point to ensure good sanitation around the shrine. The administration should also ensure adequate presence of Traffic police around the shrine in order to meet the exigencies arising due to high vehicular movement and huge rush of people. Moreover the security of the devotees should also be ensured.
