Apni Party, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma said that discrimination with Jammu will end only with the restoration of Statehood.
Addressing a public meeting at Shastri Nagar, Namrta said Union Territory status is the main cause of discrimination with Jammu which needs to be removed as early as possible and State status is restored without any further delay.
During the function, a renowned educationist Amrit Choudhary also joined Apni Party in presence of Namrta Sharma during the public meeting.
Welcoming her into the party, Namrta said that Jammu is at the crossroads where the traders are facing problems in their business, and educated youth are not able to find employment which is opposite to the promises made with the people.
“The job opportunities have reduced and business is sinking with every passing day after the outsiders were permitted to work and invest in Jammu. The outsiders have been given free hands to grab the business of Jammu province which will not be tolerated by the Apni Party,” said Namrta.
Namrta said that Maharaja Hari Singh had given us protection from the outsiders knowing that the people do not have many chances of employment or business in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is happening because we have lost our protection provided to us by our respected Maharaja. The big businessmen have been permitted to do business and it has caused serious threat to the survival of the local industrial sector, wholesale businessmen, retailers, unemployed youth and all of us,” said Namrta.
Namrta appealed to the people of Jammu to unite and oppose any attempt to erode the constitutional rights of the people of Jammu.
Meanwhile, Namrta referred to the local issues of poor road connectivity, irregular water supply and unscheduled power cuts in City areas of Jammu falling in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Constituency.
Among those who attended the meeting were senior Vice-president Pavneet Kour, Senior Vice President, Jyoti Vaid, Provincial Secretary Parvinder Kour, Meenu Sharma, Rakhi Mehra, District Coordinator Sarabjeet Kour. District Coordinator, Vaibhav Mattoo, District Secretary, Abhishek Goswami and others were also present in the meeting.
